How to apply for Civil Service Exam


Before anything else, there are two types of Career Service Examinations (CSE):
(A)Paper Pencil Test (PPT) which is the written examination. 
(B)Computerized Examination (COMEX) which is obviously the name itself by using the computer.

A) Paper Pencil Test (PPT)

Step 1: Download the application form here which is Civil Service Examination Form - CS Form No. 100 ( Revised September 2016).  Fill in all the requested information except your signature and thumbprint. 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Fully accomplished Application Form (CS Form No. 100 Revised September 2016);
2. Four (4) pieces of identical I.D. pictures with specifications, as follows:
  • taken within the last three (3) months prior to filing of application
  • Philippine passport picture size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm or 1.78” x 1.38”)
  • colored, with white background and printed on good quality photo paper
  • in standard close-up shot (from shoulder level up with the head and face occupying at least 80% of the picture and with the name tag positioned at approximately 1 inch or 2.54 cm. below the chin)
  • in bare face (with no eyeglasses, colored contact lens, or any accessories that may cover the facial features (facial features not computer enhanced)
  • showing left and right ears
  • taken in full-face view directly facing the camera, with neutral facial expression and both eyes open
  • with handwritten (not computer-generated) name tag legibly showing signature over printed full name in the format: First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name, and Extension Name, if any
3. Original and photocopy of any of the following I.D. cards, which must be valid (not expired upon  filing of application), and contains the name, clear picture, date of birth and signature of applicant, and the name and signature of the issuing agency’s current head/authorized representative:
  • Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • PRC ID
  • SSS ID
  • GSIS ID/ GSIS UMID ID
  • Philhealth ID (must at least contain the applicant’s name, clear picture, signature and Philhealth number)
  • current Company/Office ID
  • current School ID (validated for the current school year/semester/trimester)
  • Postal ID
  • BIR ID (ATM type/TIN card type with picture)
  • Barangay ID
  • Voter’s ID
  • Police Clearance/Police Clearance Certificate
  • NBI Clearance (Note: All other ID cards NOT included in the list shall NOT be accepted).
4. For applicants without date of birth in their I.D. card/s, original and photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (formerly National Statistics Office) or the Local Civil Registry printed on Security Paper (SecPa).
5. For applicants holding dual citizenship under R.A. 9225, original and photocopy of Certification of Retention/Re-acquisition of Philippine Citizenship issued by the Bureau of Immigration.

6. Examination fee of PhP500 for the CSE-PPT

Step 2: Go to the nearest Civil Service in your area  find here submit accomplished application form without affixing signature and thumbprint to CSC Regional Office or CSC Field Office where you intended to take the examination. Once evaluated by the CSC processor, affix your signature and thumbprint in the presence of CSC processor.

Step 3: Pay Php500 for your examination and keep the receipt, you will be given instructions and reminders by the CSC officers or the processor.

B) Computerized examination (COMEX):

Step 1: Create new account in COMEX, go to website: https://www.comex.csc.gov.ph/user. Then you will see this figure:


after clicking the proceed you can now access the secure website


then click "sign up now", then you may ask to click advance and proceed like the first you enter to the website. Then the system will ask you to provide your personal and other pertinent information.

You must have an active email account (if you have not yet please visit here) where the confirmation email will be sent for the activation of your COMEX account.

After you fill up the form click next. then you will ask for more 5 or 6 next.

Step 2: Once activated, the user will have access to the Examination Schedules and may reserve an examination slot through the COMEX Reservation website (erpo.csc.gov.ph/comexreservation/user). Fill out the required fields. Please remember or take note of your login credentials (email address and password). Those with existing COMEX Reservation Account, shall log in and update your account to select the preferred type and date of examination. Login using your email and password (http://erpo.csc.gov.ph/comexreservation/user/login), and choose SLOT RESERVATION.

Step 3: Once a reservation has been made, an applicant should personally submit an original and photocopy of a valid I.D. card and pay the examination fee to the designated CSC Office on the scheduled date and time
